"The Outside Man".
This is a cool but hard to find* mob chase film made in 1972 by Jacques Deray and starring among others: Jean-Louis Trintignant, Ann-Margret, Roy Scheider, Angie Dickinson, and a bit part with Talia Shire. It was co-written by Jean-Claude Carrière (who co-wrote many Buñuel films). I just saw it the other day and it reminded me a bit of 'Point Blank' [because of its man on-the-run, revenge plot plus its neat Los Angeles locales] and 'Le Samurai' [because of the existential quality involving a phlegmatic French hitman trying to find the truth against heavy odds].
