Illuminated Manuscripts...

Image Hosted by

Manuscripts from the British Library. The Library holds one of the richest collections of medieval and renaissance manuscripts in the world, and the Digital Catalogue's goal is to provide access to images and information about its manuscripts to students, scholars and the general public.

It's not easy to navigate the site so do a 'simple' search. Here's a search of the word Nativity.

Outsider Art...

Charles Benefiel "uses densely gridded columns of numbers to demonstrate a particular sensitivity to the ways in which contemporary society quantifies, categorizes, and classifies human beings into endless sets of numbers on bills, credit cards, I.D. cards, and bank statements. His is also a world where human beings voluntarily become distorted toys...."

Film Mag...

Image Hosted by

FLM Magazine the film magazine of Landmark Theatres is ready to read both online and for pick-up [free] at Landmark Theatres. Online you can read many articles including what writer/director Matthew Parkhill has to say about 'dot the I', what director Dana Brown has to say about his latest documentary 'Dust to Glory' as well as Jonathan Nossiter's comments on his wine documentary 'Mondovino'.

There are many, many more unique articles - written by filmmakers who have cool new art/indie/foreign films coming soon - in the magazine itself. Included also is a review I wrote on the forthcoming DVD of The Corporation.
